Clay County authorities investigate vague social media threats against schools
The Clay County District Schools Police Department posted a warning to parents Tuesday night about social media posts that could threaten schools in the county and neighboring areas. “The author of a newer social media post apparently formed conclusions of what they heard. Retired Clay County Schools police officer dies after illness
A Clay County District Schools Police Department officer who was forced to retired last September as he battled an illness has died, the department said. Officer Greg Lott was one of the 46 inaugural officers when the CCDSPD was formed in 2019. “The loss of his dedication to the students, faculty and the community will be greatly missed,” the department wrote in a Facebook post. “Officer Greg Lott is 10-7 in Heaven!”10-7 is the police code for “out of service.”
Middleburg High employee accused of selling drugs to undercover officer at school
CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A custodian at Middleburg High School was arrested and accused of selling a controlled substance to an undercover deputy with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. Working with the Clay County District Schools Police Department, Kristen Howard was arrested Friday at the school and booked into the Clay County jail. On Wednesday, members of the CCSO Targeted Narcotics Team arranged to buy Suboxone pills from Howard at Middleburg High School.
