Clay County authorities investigate vague social media threats against schools

Retired Clay County Schools police officer dies after illness
A Clay County District Schools Police Department officer who was forced to retired last September as he battled an illness has died, the department said. Officer Greg Lott was one of the 46 inaugural officers when the CCDSPD was formed in 2019. โThe loss of his dedication to the students, faculty and the community will be greatly missed,โ the department wrote in a Facebook post. โOfficer Greg Lott is 10-7 in Heaven!โ10-7 is the police code for โout of service.โ

Middleburg High employee accused of selling drugs to undercover officer at school
CLAY COUNTY, Fla. โ A custodian at Middleburg High School was arrested and accused of selling a controlled substance to an undercover deputy with the Clay County Sheriffโs Office. Working with the Clay County District Schools Police Department, Kristen Howard was arrested Friday at the school and booked into the Clay County jail. On Wednesday, members of the CCSO Targeted Narcotics Team arranged to buy Suboxone pills from Howard at Middleburg High School.
