The News4JAX I-TEAM obtained new records on dress code violations in St. Johns County schools.

After the St. Johns County School District overhauled its dress code policy last year, some parents tell News4JAX that their students are still receiving unfair violations.

The debate over what students are allowed to wear in public schools is taking center stage at the “Women’s Rights Project”.

After widespread backlash over enforcement of its dress code and the controversial editing of female student yearbook photos, the St. Johns County School District formed a committee to discuss an overhaul of that key portion of the student code of conduct.

AdOn Monday, students put up signs and wore clothing that would violate the dress code. The district said it will look into if any dress code changes are needed.
