Study highlights foster care challenges in Florida
The Right for Kids Ranking judges state foster care programs on seven criteria, ranging from funding to the number of children in care. But it also a tale of two foster care systems. โThere are instances and there are parts of Florida that are struggling,โ said Florida Department of Children and Families Secretary Chad Poppell. The study found Florida ranks 43rd nationally when it comes to finding bedrooms over dorm rooms. We have to find places to put children,โ said Kurt Kelly, with the Florida Coalition for Children.
