Orionid meteor shower will peak early this week
(CNN) - The Orionid meteor shower will peak on Monday and Tuesday, sprinkling remnants of Halley's Comet in Earth's atmosphere to create a dazzling display. This meteor shower may not be the most spectacular of the year, but it delights in other ways. The best time to see this meteor shower, which could produce 10 to 20 meteors per hour during the peak window, is when the moon isn't dominating the night sky. That's because these meteors are more faint than the Perseid meteor shower. While the meteor shower will peak in the overnight hours of early morning on October 21 and 22, the best view will be during a brief window between the setting of the moon and the beginning of morning twilight.
