Lorene Scafaria on 'Hustlers,' Pole Dancing and Directing Cardi B (Exclusive)
Ahead of Hustlers' release, Scafaria talked with ET about the impending awards season, pole dancing and what it's like directing Cardi B. Yes, I hoped it was going to be released at Christmas, because I think it's a Christmas movie, too. Obviously, she's a gifted dancer, but there's something else going on, too. Musicians and singers, in general, maybe have that natural timing and rhythm, but she's obviously a force in so many ways. She really played a part and really stepped into the time period, too.

Costume designer Mitchell Travers knew he was in for something special from the moment he got his hands on the Hustlers script. "Jen really wanted to figure out who this person was from the bones, and bring that character to me in the fitting room, so that we could start to dress Ramona and not Jennifer." She is so healthy and strong and works really hard at that, but, of course, she's like anybody else," Travers explains. "There's some tape, some cleverly positioned stitches and then one incredibly nervous costume designer behind the camera sweating until it's over." "The costume design of this movie is important in that I wanted people to cringe with it a little bit.
