A few weeks after News4JAX first reported concerns from St. Augustine Shores residents, frustration is continuing to grow over a median that blocks direct access to their neighborhood.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Tuesday that two people were found dead in a St. Augustine Shores home of what’s being investigated as a murder-suicide.

A St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office patrol cruiser was involved in a crash Tuesday night in St. Augustine Shores.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. One northbound lane of U.S. 1 in St. Augustine Shores was blocked Wednesday afternoon as the Florida Highway Patrol investigated a hit-and-run crash that killed one person and injured a second. They said a man rear-ended a car in front of him, causing it to overturn. The driver of the other car continued driving about a mile, pulling behind a BB&T Bank to conceal the car. The man was located by St. Johns County deputies, and he was hospitalized. Troopers have not released any information about the people who were inside the car that overturned.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A low pressure off of the coastline of Florida is dragging waves of rainfall up through our area, especially along the coastal counties. Three inches of rainfall reported on Watson Road in St. Augustine Shores, resulting in minor flooding on US 1. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible this afternoon and the heaviest rain will move up the coast. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin in the warning area. Some locations that will experience flooding include Palm Coast, Bunnell, Saint Augustine Beach, Marineland, Crescent Beach, Butler Beach, St. Augustine Shores, Dupont Center and Espanola.
