The YouTuber who sent social media into a frenzy after posting video of her slapping and spitting on her dog will not face animal cruelty charges, according to reports. Brooke Houts, who has more than 330,000 subscribers, was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department's Animal Cruelty Task Force after partially edited footage went up last month showing her hitting and shoving her Doberman. They determined it didn't rise to the level of animal cruelty," BuzzFeed News reported, citing an unidentified Los Angeles Police Department officer. Joyce, who lives in north London, was last seen on July 31 and reported missing on August 7. Several hours later, her boyfriend, Brandon Mehmed, also a YouTuber, tweeted: "Everything is being dealt with in a professional manner. The hashtag #SaveMarinaJoyce was shared over 3 million times before Joyce tweeted that she was "TOTALLY fine." In a YouTube video the following year, she told her viewers: "I simply don't want you to believe any of the conspiracy theories because none of them are true."

Police in New York have found the body of a man in the East River days after sources said belongings of missing YouTuber and Twitch streamer Desmond Amofah were found on a bridge nearby.
