E-scooters, e-bikes, and hoverboards have grown in popularity among Americans in recent years, as a way to get to and from work or school, or for fun.

The family of a Jacksonville father killed last month is pleading for answers in his shooting death.

The City of Jacksonville officially launched a one-year pilot program for e-scooters, e-bicycles and dockless bicycles in Downtown Jacksonville on Thursday. Locals and visitors can rent and ride these electric scooters via smartphone applications. “I’m so excited that Micromobility has come to Downtown Jacksonville,” Cumber said. Dockless Mobility Program Vendors include: Blue Duck, Helbiz, LINK and SPIN. Each company will deploy 100 electric scooters for a total of 400, all operating within the Dockless Mobility Zone (DMZ).

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Some Downtown Jacksonville streets were closed off by officers with the Sheriff’s Office on Thursday night due to an investigation. The streets included Forsyth and Adams streets from Hogan to Laura streets. A photo from a viewer appeared to show JSO’s defusal robot and some packages near a parking meter outside Gili’s Kitchen, which is on Adams Street. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Nearly a dozen hospitals in Northeast Florida are set to receive Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine soon, but the exact timetable is unclear.
