JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Less than two weeks after celebrating its grand opening, Derby House Diner in Five Points is closing its doors. The restaurant at the corner of Park and Margaret streets opened in mid-June after months of extensive renovations. Despite several good reviews on Facebook, the owner announced the diner would be closing due to low revenue. This isn't the first time the community has had to say farewell to the corner restaurant. The restaurant was formerly known as Derby on Park -- an iconic diner that sat on Park Street for 60 years.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sun-Ray Cinema, an independent movie theater in Five Points, has announced plans to open a second location in Mandarin. The theater's official Facebook account broke the news on Saturday. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A woman is hoping to reunite with a man she helped pull out of a car that crashed into a building in the Five Points area of Riverside. Williams told News4Jax that she heard a loud boom and ran over to see what happened. Williams said she and another man noticed the driver stuck inside the car and immediately opened the door to help after noticing smoke coming from the car. Williams wants to reconnect with the man who she helped save to see how he is doing. At this time, it's unclear why the man ended up crashing into the building, which has since been boarded up.
