Jacksonville police: Man arrested after pursuit, crash off I-295

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was arrested Tuesday after Monday's pursuit and crash of a black pickup truck off Interstate 295 in Arlington, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Andrew Bryan, 35, is charged with fleeing from police, aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting police and driving with a revoked license.

According to the incident report, an officer blue-lighted Bryan after seeing him pull a U-turn on Atlantic Boulevard and speeding.

Police said Bryan drove right at the cruiser, forcing the officer to take evasive action.

The pursuit continued onto I-295, and then Bryan drove off the ramp into the woodline and fled, police said.

Several officers, a K-9 unit and a helicopter searched the wooded area and a nearby neighborhood for about an hour, then left without capturing the driver. The Dodge Dakota pickup truck was towed away.

Bryan was located Tuesday and arrested without incident, according to the Sheriff's Office.
