YULEE, Fla. – A driver was charged with careless driving in a fiery crash that shut down I-95 near SR-200 in Nassau County for several hours, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The highway reopened hours after the Wednesday night crash that took place around 8:30 p.m.

FHP said a 90-year-old man was driving his RV that was also towing a car when his car stalled in the right lane of I-95.

Investigators said a 45-year-old driver in that same lane didn't see the disabled RV blocking traffic and tried to dodge it but ended up rear-ending it.

This caused the RV to catch on fire with a second explosion from the stored propane tanks on the motor home.

The 90-year-old man was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The other driver was not injured.
