Police identify 2 killed when car went airborne, hit tree on Northside

Crash near Jacksonville National Cemetery on Lannie Road

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two people were killed Friday morning in a crash near the National Cemetery, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said a red Chevy Cavalier was headed southbound on Lannie Road about 9:30 a.m. and lost control for unknown reasons.

Investigators said the car swerved across oncoming traffic, struck a ditch and went airborne before hitting a tree.

Both people in the car were killed on impact.

The driver has been identified as John Gould, 28, the passenger was Sasha Mohn, 27, both of Jacksonville.

Investigators said their deaths are the 143rd and 144th traffic fatality in Duval County in  2018.
