JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After hitting the mid 80s on Monday, temperatures are warming again on Tuesday into the upper 70s and low 80s. The fog burned off by 10 a.m. for most areas, some persistent fog stuck around I-75 and coastal waters through the lunch hour.
Partly cloudy to partly sunny skies allowed temperatures to warm into the low to mid 70s by the noon hour. Chances for showers develop into the forecast during the afternoon and evening forecast. Along and to the east of I-95, showers will move from the south to the north. Some showers may drop as much as a quarter of an inch of rain, most likely just along the coastline.

There is an isolated chance for a thunderstorm, but significant daytime warming would need to occur for it to be possible. By the evening hours, the isolated showers move mostly to the north of Jacksonville, and head through southeast Georgia.
Overnight, the isolated showers die down and skies remain partly cloudy to partly clear overnight, with fewer chances for fog due to a shift in winds. The winds turn to the southeast overnight ahead of an approaching cold front that will bring bigger chances for rain Wednesday, and chillier temperatures for the end of the work week.
