Temperatures climb into the 80s Tuesday

Near record warmth, followed by widespread rain

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Temperatures warmed Monday afternoon into the upper 70s under mostly sunny skies. The unusually warm temperatures continue into Tuesday. The record for warmest overnight on Tuesday was set in 1974, of 65 degrees. Our normal low temperature overnight is 42 degrees. The afternoon high temperature record for Tuesday is 85 degrees, set in 1990. Our afternoon highs will challenge our previous record- we will see Tuesday afternoon's temperatures climbing into the low 80s during the afternoon. Tuesday evening's temperatures will be near-record breaking on the warm side, dropping down into the mid 60s overnight.

All of the warm weather eases to an end as widespread rain moves in on Wednesday. The rain is ahead of a cold front, the pre-frontal rain will spread from the West to the East and will be widespread and will effect the Southeast for an extended period of time.
