Heat index climbs as storms threaten afternoon plans

Cloudy skies blanket the area, as decreased shower and storm coverage will bring an early end to the convection.

Cloudy skies will linger tonight as the showers and isolated storms end around sunset. The activity picks back up on Thursday and Friday as the combination of heat and humidity pushes the Heat Index to near advisory levels. The unsettled pattern brings another round of showers and storms through the area on Saturday. The first day of Summer and Father’s Day are looking better with partly cloudy skies with a light onshore breeze.

A quieter start to the week is expected as temperatures soar to above seasonal levels.
