Blue Jay Listening Room, Jacksonville’s award winning music venue is celebrating their 7th year.  When the beloved Freebird Live closed, Cara Murphy saw a need for a music venue in her beaches community that was solely focused on the artist. “There was nowhere for artists and bands to play besides bars and restaurants. If you couldn’t book one of the bigger venues, you were forced to play to a bunch of drunk people who wanted to hear covers. So, I wanted a space that was the opposite of that.” In 2017, Cara opened Blue Jay Listening Room and since then, it has become a staple in the Jax music community, encouraging both local and national bands and artists to come and play their original music for a crowd of people who are there to actually LISTEN.        On August 18th, Blue Jay will be celebrating their 7 year anniversary with Trash Panda! On December 28, 2023, a group of siblings embarked on their annual New Year’s trip to South America, choosing Cartagena as their destination. During their stay, they were moved by a strong desire to give back to the local community. Motivated by this, they organized a charity donation drive for the neighborhood of Barrio La María. Despite Cartagena's popularity as a tourist destination, the needs of its local residents often go overlooked.

Jennifer Nestor is a local Children's Book Author who recently released her debut book "Jane Escapes to the Jungle of Individuality."

Alexandria Smith is a women’s wellness advocate & educator dedicated to helping families everywhere live a more fulfilling and balanced life through her platform, Mom, Wife, Worship Life.

Heather Marie is an award winning local children's book author. She started a children's picture book series "The Adventures of Pickle Juice and Patty Cakes" based off of her two french bull dog puppies Pickle Juice & Patty Cakes. She wrote this series to teach kids to always be kind, to never give up and to accept differences in others. She currently has two published books in the series, "Pickle Juice & Patty Cakes Ice Cream Adventure" and "Pickle Juice & Patty Cakes Space Adventure". Heather loves being out in the community with her side kick Patty Cakes making appearances at local schools for author visits, book stores, RAM, donating books to local and overseas charities and being at several events in Duval and St.John's County almost every weekend. She loves being able to provide interactive story times through out the community with different sensory and arts and craft activities that go along with her books to keep the kids engaged and help increase sensory and literacy development as well as reading comprehension. Her mission is to provide a memorable experience for kids while teaching kids the importance of being kind and accepting differences in others.
