Rain chances increase ahead of cold font's passage

Scattered showers develop as week begins, cooler and drier move in behind

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.Saturday Night: Calm and pleasant conditions will continues through tonight. Expect increasing clouds throughout the evening, so the viewing of the Orionid Meteor Shower will be rather difficult. Overnight lows will fall to the mid-to-upper 60s inland and lowers 70s along the coasts.

Sunday: Expected increase showers along with a few embedded thunderstorms, the heaviest activity will be north of I-10. Isolated showers will move in south of Jacksonville, but areas north and west of the city should expect scattered showers during the daytime and early evening hours. Some areas in Southeastern Georgia could receive up to 2” of rain.

Mostly cloudy skies will give way to small bouts of sunshine as we start the week, but Saturday is shaping up to the better day of the weekend. Highs on Sunday will be in the low 80s along the coast and the mid-80s inland.

Next Week: Scattered showers along with a few thunderstorms are expected to pop Monday afternoon and evening ahead of cold front expected to arrive overnight. Showers following the frontal passage will linger into Tuesday morning, however, fall-like conditions will quickly takeover by evening as drier and cooler air settles in. During the middle part of the week rain chances are low as overnight temperatures fall to the upper 40s in some inland locations. Highs will linger in the 70s before temperatures warm up during the latter part of the week.
