CITRA, Fla. – Video released Thursday by Marion County deputies shows a 68-year-old Citra man getting pulled over after he was spotted driving a lawn mower on the wrong side of a road.

James David Gray was arrested on DUI charges Wednesday afternoon after deputies spotted him driving a red lawn mower southbound in northbound lanes of Northeast 30th Court in Marion County. Deputies said when they stopped Gray, his eyes were bloodshot, his speech was slurred and there was a cold beer open in a cup holder on the lawn mower.
Gray, who said is recovering from a drinking problem, decided to buy an 18-pack of Natural Ice beer on his way home from cutting grass because he was depressed from monetary problems and it was hot outside, according to deputies.
In the video, a deputy asks Gray to perform several sobriety tests.
When asked what level of education he has, Gray responded, "DEG."
Gray was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail.
