Third arrest made in fatal shooting of Miami 6-year-old

DORAL, Fla. – A third suspect has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a 6-year-old boy. 

Tamar Teems, 16, was arrested early Friday morning in Doral. He faces a charge of attempted first-degree murder and second-degree murder in the death of King Carter.

Leonard Adams, 18, and Irwen Pressley, 17, were arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting.

Miami-Dade police said the suspects and target of the shooting had been feuding on social media. Police said the three suspects then drove to the apartment complex of that target, who goes by "Ju Ju," and exchanged gunfire.

An arrest report claims Adams was driving the car when others noticed Ju Ju standing by a stairwell at the Blue Lake Village apartment complex at 1225 NW 103rd Lane. 

Ju Ju shot back and was injured, but King, who was walking across the parking lot to buy candy, was struck in the chest, police said. 

WPLG-TV reporter Sanela Sabovic spoke to Teems' mother Friday morning, who claimed that Teems visiting a friend at the time of the shooting and was not involved. She said police beat Teems at the police station into confessing that was part of the crime.

According to Ameachel Teems, her son has been arrested once before for grand theft, but said Tamar has since turned his life around.

According to court records, Tamar  Teems has been arrested in the past on charges on vehicle theft, grand theft, fleeing and eluding police and carrying a concealed weapon.

Police are still searching for the car used in the shooting, believed to be a black 1999 Lexus GS 300 with tinted windows. Its possible tag number is BMG8285 or BMT6457.
