Here are things you can go over now to be ready next week:
- Parents, while you’re out with your little ones, make sure to avoid using your phone and updating social media until after you’re finished trick-or-treating.
- Walk door to door and show them safe places to cross the street. Have your trick-or-treaters carry a glow-stick of flash light so they can see and be seen.
- Drivers, be sure to avoid distractions and as always drive sober.
- You’ll want to drive slower than usual through neighborhoods to give you extra reaction time.
- AAA encourages turning your headlights on to make yourself more visible, even in the daylight hours.
If there are no sidewalks where you are trick-or-treating, always walk facing traffic and stay as far left as possible.
