JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police said a bullet grazed a 5-year-old boy's head when shots were fired Tuesday evening in Northwest Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO Chief Tom Hackney said police were called to the 9200 block of Danville Avenue just after 8 p.m. Tuesday. Witnesses said they heard two shots, but police have only confirmed one shot.

According to a police report, someone went into the yard of the home and fired a shotgun into the house. The boy, Joshua Griffin, and others were watching TV when the window blew out.
Joshua's mother said she heard a shot and her glass break. She said she then realized that her son's head had been grazed by a bullet.
Detectives canvassed the neighborhood Tuesday night but didn't find the shooter.
"By the grace of God, we're not working a murder and just aggravated battery to a child," Hackney said.
According to the family, Joshua has been released from Shands Jacksonville Medical Center after being treated for a pellet graze wound.
Channel 4 spoke with the boy's aunt and she said this type of violence has to stop.
"He's very scared and it's not a good thing. He wouldn't let me go," Laura Williams said. "He wanted to go home with me because he was so scared. This violence has got to stop."
