Man sought after robbing McDonald's employee

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police in Jacksonville are trying to identify a man they said robbed a McDonald's employee on the Westside the night of Jan. 4.

Investigators said the woman was getting into her car at the restaurant in the 8000 block of Normandy Boulevard about 7:30 p.m. when she was attacked by a man.

Police said the robber may have dropped a hat, which was picked up by another heavyset man parked in a white pickup truck near the victim's car.

The robber is described as a black man between 40 and 50 years old, between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 10 inches tall and between 200 and 210 pounds. He was wearing a dark gray or black hoodie sweatshirt, dark jeans and white tennis shoes. A witness said he had a strong odor of cigarettes.

Police released surveillance photos of the robber, the pickup truck and the person believed to be driving the truck. The driver's involvement is yet to be determined, police said.
