Man struck by semitruck in Baldwin dies 1 week later, police say

BALDWIN, Fla. – A pedestrian who was struck by a semitruck while attempting to cross U.S. 90 West and Center Street in Baldwin on Oct. 11 has died, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Police said Lorenza Elton Bryant, 74, was airlifted to Orange Park Medical Center with serious injuries after the crash. He died of his injuries Wednesday.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.

According to JSO, there have been 117 traffic deaths this year in Duval County, 33 of which were pedestrian fatalities.
