Today the Cummer Museum joined us for our Crafting Corner segment and they featured a small art project to explore different simple ways to create beautiful designs on clay inspired by the clay works in the upcoming exhibition Buddha and Shiva, Lotus and Dragon: Masterworks from the Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller 3rd Collection at Asia Society.
The tactile nature of creating with clay promotes mindfulness and integrates creativity into one’s life. Clay is a wonderful medium to work with when looking to relax and let go of stress. It’s very therapeutic.
The Cummer has a variety of adult art classes and workshops offered throughout the year, as well as some great happenings this summer. The new exhibition Lotus and Dragon: Masterworks from the Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller 3rd Collection at Asia Society opens Saturday June 25, and our free Summer at the Cummer series kicks off in July. Guests can enjoy free museum admission and live concert in the gardens every Friday night!
