High School Football: State semifinals roundup

Columbia receiver Jamille Bullock catches a TD pass to give the Tigers a 7-0 lead over Viera in the 5A state semifinals Friday night. Viera would win 42-23.

Glynn Academy and Clinch County were the only local teams to survive state semifinal matchups Friday night.

Glynn Academy defeated Ware County 24-16 to advance to next Friday's GHSA  AAAAA state championship at the Georgia Dome. The Terrors will face Allatoona at 8:00 pm.

Clinch County got past Commerce 26-19 and will face Irwin County for the GHSA Public Class A championship Friday at 1:00pm in the Georgia Dome.

In the 7A FHSAA state semifinals, Columbia got out to a quick 7-0 lead over Viera when Dalvin Schuck found Jamille Bullock for a touchdown.  But it was all Viera after that as the Hawks end the Tigers season at 12-2 with a 42-23 win.

In the 5A FHSAA state semifinals, Clay traveled to Crawfordville to face Wakulla. The Blue Devils lose a heartbreaker 34-24 and finish the season 10-4.
