Grayson Allen will return to Duke for junior season

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Duke guard Grayson Allen will return to school for his junior season, Blue Devils head coach Mike Krzyzewski announced Wednesday.

"I had the feeling that it was right," said Allen in a statement. “He says he built relationships with his teammates and "coming back next season to play with them is important to me."

Allen was projected to be a border-line first round draft pick. A new rule allows college players to test the waters and participate in the NBA Draft combine to gauge where they would be drafted. As long as players don’t hire an agent and remove their name from the draft by late May they can maintain their collegiate eligibility.

The former Providence High School star was a third-team AP All-American selection in his sophomore season at Duke. He finished this past season by reaching double-figures in points in his last 25 games.
