Clay County School Board, District 1
Three candidates are seeking the votes for Clay County School Board, District 1. This is a nonpartisan office is elected by all voters in the district, regardless of party. This race appears on the August primary ballot. If no candidate gets more than 50% of the vote, the top two will advance to a runoff in November.
Duval school board swears in new members, elects officers
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Duval County School Board swore in two new members and elected a new chair and vice-chair on Tuesday. Board member Elizabeth Andersen was elected as the new chairwoman and Board member Darryl Willie was elected vice-chair. Former chair Warren A. Jones (District 5) along with Lori Hershey (District 7) were also sworn in after winning reelection. “I am grateful to former Board Chair Warren Jones and the many leaders that have come before me for laying a foundation for success,” said Andersen. “I am honored to serve the community as chair of the Duval County School Board.”Charlotte Joyce (District 6), who was elected in 2018, is the seventh board member.

Primary results: Duval School Board, City Council, Clerk of Courts
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. In the race for the Duval County School Board, four of the seven seats on the board were up for election in 2020. Duval County Clerk of CourtsIt was an open seat for 2020 in the Republican primary race for Duval County Clerk of Court. Jody Phillips, whos the chief operating officer for the the Clerk of Courts, won with 58% of the vote. Next was City Council member Scott Wilson, who got 31% of the vote, followed by Leon Jackson, who has been manager of the Clerk of Courts since 2005. Hamm received 43% of the vote, Carrico received 34% and Redman received 23%.
