He also met with the family of Ahmaud Arbery and encouraged people in Georgia to vote in the upcoming Senate race runoffs. And this country has been going through a lately, especially here in Brunswick, has been through a lot with the killing of a Ahmaud Arbery,” Common said. As organizers prepared to pass out 250 new tennis shoes to teenagers, Common spent some time meeting with Arbery’s mother, Wanda Cooper. Common visited Jacksonville right before the presidential election.
A 'Black Parade' Grammys: Beyoncé leads with 9 nominations

A winner of 24 Grammys, Beyoncé becomes the second-most nominated act in the history of the awards show with 79 nominations. Beyoncé is only behind her husband Jay-Z and Quincy Jones, who have both earned 80 nominations each. Jay-Z picked up three nominations this year for his contributions to Beyoncé’s songs: He co-wrote “Black Parade” and “Savage,” thus earning nominations for song of the year, best R&B song and best rap song. Instead, multiple nominations went to Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and Roddy Ricch, who each earned six nominations and followed Beyoncé as the second-most nominated acts.
Amber Guyger to be in same prison as woman who killed singer Selena
GATESVILLE, Texas - The former Dallas police officer sentenced to 10 years in prison for the murder of her neighbor will be housed in the same prison as the woman who killed Grammy Award winning singer Selena. Amber Guyger, 31, will be housed at the Mountain View facility in Texas, according to Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokesman Robert Hurst. Hurst confirmed that Yolanda Saldivar, who was sentenced to life in prison in 1995 in the shooting death of singer Selena Quintanilla-Perez, is also housed at that facility. The prisonMountain View is a maximum security prison for female inmates in Gatesville, Texas, about 90 miles north of Austin in Coryell County. The prison houses a maximum of 645 people, including death row inmates, according to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice website.

"Thank you, Florida Georgia Line for IMPD's newest K9 partner! Brian Kelley, one part of the duo Florida Georgia Line, first met the dog last year when the pup was just 10 weeks old. Soon they realized Sarge had special talents and would make a strong police dog.
John Legend holds surprise concert in Dayton
Ian Gavan/Getty Images(CNN) - John Legend made a surprise visit to Dayton, Ohio, Sunday, a week after a shooting there left nine people dead and at least 31 others injured. Before the concert, Legend met with Mayor Nan Whaley and employees of Heart Mercantile. People who work in the Oregon District told CNN that the visit was therapeutic following an emotional week. Andy Rowe, assistant general manager at Blind Bob's, the venue where Legend performed, told CNN that the entire district appreciated the singer's visit. "It felt like the first positive beautiful moment we've felt all week," Alison Bohman told CNN by text.
