Restaurant evolved to become one of the most recognized homegrown restaurants in Jacksonville

The owner of Grumpy’s Restaurant in Middleburg says the last year has been a bit of an emotional roller coaster, but he’s excited to get back to serving the community.

After nearly an entire year of hard work, the Grumpy’s Restaurant located in Middleburg said Tuesday it will soon reopen following a devastating fire last January.

Grumpy’s Restaurant has — yet again — returned as your pick for Jacksonville’s best breakfast in 2022.

Jacksonville has voted Grumpy’s Restaurant as Jacksonville’s best brunch.

Grumpy’s Restuarant CEO Daniel DeLeon says the plan is to rebuild and open the doors again to customers by this May. That is not the only site the company has in the works. It is also in the process of opening two new spots this summer.

Clay County Fire Rescue personnel were dispatched Wednesday night to a fire at the popular Grumpy’s Restaurant in Middleburg.

One restaurant will open in St. Johns County, slated to open this Spring, and two restaurants in the Jacksonville area. President and CEO Daniel DeLeon told News4Jax the franchise is expecting to have eight local restaurants open by the end of 2022.
