Coast Guard crews put the barge in โ€œa more favorable positionโ€ Tuesday night and anchored it. Wednesday morning, the Coast Guard said the barge was stable about 1 mile south of the entrance to the St. Johns River, adding there are no impacts on the environment and a 500-yard safety zone is enforced around the barge. AdThe Coast Guard did not specify what kind of ash was being hauled but said nothing has spilled from the barge. #USCG Sector #Jacksonville is responding to an incident involving the barge Bridgeport, 1 mile south of the St. John's River entrance. A safety zone is in place and all mariners are urged to remain clear of operations.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A lifeguard is credited with saving a woman who was pulled into the surf off Neptune Beach during Hurricane Dorian as the storm left behind damage and flooding throughout Duval County. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the woman was standing along the shoreline when the current came in, knocked her down and pulled her into the ocean. The Sheriff's Office shared photos of a flooded road near the entrance to Huguenot Park. The Sheriff's Office also shared a photo Wednesday morning as JEA crews were out responding to power outages. A 35-year-old woman drowned after her SUV overturned in a lake at Hanna Park but rescuers pulled a 5-year-old daughter from the submerged car alive, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Investigators said the woman was attempting to turn around on a narrow dirt road when the vehicle slid and overturned into the water. First responders spent more than an hour looking for the car -- even using a helicopter in the search to find it. First responders had to use a knife to cut through multiple airbags to free the two victims. Police said the child was transported to an area hospital in good condition.
