Looking at the schedule the rest of the way, this is probably the Jags last chance to get a W this season. With that in mind, let’s put our optimistic hats on for Sunday's Jaguars-Jets game.

Jaguars poised to spend big, rebuild quickly in free agency

Free agency feels a lot like recruiting to new Jaguars coach Urban Meyer. It certainly should help that the Jaguars have more salary cap space (nearly $73 million) than any other team. (AP Photo/Jay LaPrete, File)JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Free agency feels a lot like recruiting to new Jaguars coach Urban Meyer. Clemson star Trevor Lawrence is the presumptive choice, and the Jaguars will use free agency to build around him. “That’s a room that’s going to have to be rebuilt in some ways,” said Meyer, who could sign Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith or Gerald Everett when free agency officially begins Wednesday.

Skidding Jags rule out WR Chark for season finale at Colts

Read full article: Skidding Jags rule out WR Chark for season finale at Colts

Coach Doug Marrone ruled out Chark (shin) on Friday, two days after saying running back James Robinson would miss the game because of a badly sprained left ankle. Chark leads the team with 53 receptions for 706 yards and five touchdowns. Without Chark and rookie Collin Johnson (hamstring), the Jaguars (1-14) will rely on rookie Laviska Shenault, Keelan Cole and Chris Conley against the Colts (10-5). Journeyman Mike Glennon will make his fifth start of the season and second straight. He has two touchdown passes and six turnovers in his last 10 quarters.

So Vrabel stuck with Henry, who delivered a 20-yard run in the fourth quarter that helped him make NFL history. Henry ran for 215 yards and two touchdowns, his best performance in five trips to his hometown area, and the Titans dominated Jacksonville 31-10 on Sunday and handed the Jaguars a 12th consecutive loss. Enjoying a big performance about 25 miles from his hometown of Yulee was something new for Henry. Henry had 170 yards on 17 carries in the first 30 minutes, including a 36-yard touchdown run. He added a 47-yard scamper early in the third as the AFC South-leading Titans (9-4) started to pull away.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars are seeing former teammates nearly every week, so many down the stretch that it could be considered a Revenge Tour. Next up: Pittsburgh defensive end Tyson Alualu, a first-round draft pick in 2010 who returns to Jacksonville on Sunday. Alualu spent seven years with the Jaguars (1-8) after then-general manager Gene Smith surprisingly chose him with the 10th overall pick. Jacksonville will face seven more former Jaguars over its next five games:RONNIE HARRISONHarrison returns to Jacksonville on Nov. 29. Chicago gave up a compensatory fourth to get Foles, who started the past seven games for the Bears.

Jags on verge of tying another franchise record for futility

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The last time the Jacksonville Jaguars lost nine consecutive games, owner Shad Khan fired coach Gus Bradley before they left the stadium. Jacksonville (1-8) dropped its eighth straight at Green Bay on Sunday and can match the longest, single-season skid in franchise history against unbeaten Pittsburgh. “All I know is we’re putting everything in this thing and we’re fighting our butts off,” Marrone said. But the end results might not be enough to save Marrone and Caldwell, who have dropped 19 of their past 28 games. KEY NUMBER8 — number of consecutive games Jacksonville has with at least one turnover, coinciding with its losing streak.

Four takeaways: Quite a few positives, but Jaguars can’t shake streak

Here were my four biggest takeaways from the game:Luton’s second shotJake Luton threw for just 38 yards in the first half. In the second half, he fit the ball in a tight window on a touchdown pass to Keelan Cole. Luton finished with modest numbers, 18 of 35 passing for 169 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Rookie reportOne of the most important storylines of the second half of the season is the development of Jaguars' rookies. Then, in the third quarter, Cole hauled in a 12-yard pass from Luton for the second Jaguars' touchdown of the game.

The Latest on Week 10 in the NFL (all times EST):___8 p.m.From Kyler Murray magic to Alex Smith’s latest milestone, it was quite the day for quarterbacks selected first in the NFL draft. The Cardinals beat Buffalo 32-30 on a 43-yard touchdown pass from Kyler Murray to DeAndre Hopkins with 2 seconds left, dropping the Bills record to 7-3. Brees was shaken up on a sack in the second quarter when Kentavius Street landed on him. 1 pick Joe Burrow, threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Jakeem Grant with 58 seconds left in the first quarter. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – We’re running out of ways to discuss the Jaguars' struggles, and we’re only in mid-October. Jacksonville gave up more than 30 points for the fifth straight week in a 34-16 loss to the Lions on Sunday. TerribleThis was one of the worst performances I’ve seen from the Jaguars in a long time. Facing a team giving up a league-worst 170 yards per game on the ground, the Jaguars managed just 44 rushing yards. After a lost 2019, Cole continued to play week, catching six passes for 143 yards against the Lions.

5 position battles to watch at Jaguars training camp 2019

For the Jaguars, the goal is simple: Return to the playoffs after a dismal 2018 season. But the weakside linebacker, Smiths position, must be filled with a player the Jaguars trust. Expect to see more two tight end sets with the Jaguars this season. There is also a chance that the Jaguars could move Ronnie Harrison from strong safety to free safety in a pinch, which would another player into the role of strong safety. Coles Prediction: Theyll go with Wilson, but they should keep an eye on the waiver wire for more depth at the position.
