On Friday, the parties announced that Marvel would again have a hand in producing the next sequel, and that Spider-Man would appear in another upcoming Marvel feature. In a statement, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige said he is "thrilled that Spidey's journey in the MCU will continue." The result benefited both sides, with Sony releasing the hits "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and "Spider-Man: Far From Home," and the character appearing in several Marvel movies, including the "Avengers" saga. In August, however, the relationship broke down, with the announcement that Feige would no longer oversee the production of the Spider-Man movies. "Spider-Man: Far From Home" has grossed more than $1.1 billion worldwide, making it the third most lucrative movie released in 2019, behind "Avengers: Endgame" and "The Lion King."

Sony and Walt Disney Studio's Marvel with Kevin Feige at the helm, are working together again to bring the third Spider-Man film to audiences with Tom Holland starring. The third installment of solo films for Holland's Spider-Man is set to be released on July 16, 2021. According to Comic Book, Spider-Man will also appear in a future Marvel Studios film. Holland has already starred as the web slinger in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming and 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home. Holland previously addressed the conflict between Sony and Marvel, telling the crowd at D23 that he is "holding out hope that this isn't he final chapter of that story."

Richard Madden is sharing his excitement that his new film, Eternals, will include the first openly gay character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "I think it's hugely important, just the cast is so diverse," Madden stated. I think Marvel are really at the forefront of that." Madden and Kit Harington, who played Robb Stark and Jon Snow on the mega-hit HBO show, will be joining forces again beyond the borders of Westeros. The film centers on a race of immortals who once lived on Earth and had a hand in human civilization.

The upcoming Marvel film, The Eternals, is going to include the an openly gay character. Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, confirmed the news during a recent interview with Good Morning America while not clarifying which character it's going to be. The actress said she felt empowered while donning the costume for her Eternals character, Thena, until her kids got a look at her getup. As for the openly gay character in The Eternals, as fans of the MCU know, this won't be the only LGBTQ representation in the comic book universe. "[She's] a Thor," the 44-year-old New Zealander clarified following the film's presentation when asked about the Oscar-winning actress taking over the role. The Disney-Marvel movie won three Oscars for original score and production as well as costume design. As if The Eternals wasn't epic enough already, Marvel's upcoming cosmic drama will feature a Game of Thrones reunion, with Kevin Feige announced that star Kit Harington is joining the cast. Gemma Chan, who previously starred in Captain Marvel, will play Sersi, Barry Keoghan is Druig and Harington will play a non-Eternal named Dane Whitman. The WandaVision star spoke with ET at Disney's D23 Expo on Friday, where she was gleeful about Natalie Portman's upcoming turn as the first-ever female Thor. "I think it's genius and I'm very excited," Dennings added. Dennings and Portman starred together in two Marvel Cinematic Universe films, 2011's Thor and 2013's Thor: The Dark World. The comic run Dennings is referring to was called The Mighty Thor, which director Taika Waititi has revealed is, indeed, the inspiration for the upcoming 2021 superhero flick, Thor: Love and Thunder. But on Friday, Feige confirmed three new titles in the works for the streaming service:First up, Ms. Marvel, centered on the MCU's first Muslim superhero, Kamala Khan. "You will meet her in her Disney+ series and then you will see her in our films," Feige said. Then there's Moon Knight, about the mercenary Marc Spector, who "may or may not" be impugned with power. Lastly, "Bruce Banner is no longer the only Hulk in the MCU," Feige said. A She-Hulk series is officially in the works, about lawyer and big green woman Jennifer Walters.

Wesley Snipes has given his support and blessing to the recent news of an upcoming Blade reboot. "We wanted to do our big ensemble like we did in Phase Two with 'Guardians,' and that's what 'Eternals is," said Feige. 3" and sequels to "Black Panther" and "Captain Marvel." Diversity has clearly reverberated deeply with audiences embracing superheroes that look and feel like they do, with Captain Marvel and Black Panther as cases in point. "We love the story -- it's one of the best comic runs recently," said Feige.

During the Marvel panel at Comic-Con on Saturday, it was revealed that Natalie Portman will be be returning to the Marvel franchise as Jane Foster. ETs Ashley Crossan spoke with Marvel super-producer Kevin Feige afterward, when he explained how the concept for the upcoming film came together. Feige added that "when Taiki had this idea and pitched it to her, she was in right away." The upcoming film will also feature franchise regular Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, who will officially be the first LGBTQ superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On Saturday at Comic-Con 2019, Marvel Studios revealed that their star-studded film had surpassed Avatar, claiming the title of highest-grossing film of all time. The superhero extravaganza has racked up $2.79 billion at the global box office, according to Box Office Mojo. This achievement arrives after Endgame previous broke numerous records including becoming the first film to crack the billion-dollar benchmark on its opening weekend.
