The case haunted the family and the town for nearly 20 years until a fateful day in August 2009 brought Jaycee back into the fold. During her 18-year life of hell, Jaycee was raped by her kidnapper, Phillip Garrido, and was forced to raise the two children she had with him. On Aug. 24, 2009, Phillip and his daughters arrived on the campus of UC Berkley where he inquired about holding events for his religious organization. When his parole officer was informed that two children had accompanied him to the campus, Phillip was ordered to attend a parole meeting. Garrido initially insisted that Jaycee and the two girls were relatives but began to crack under questioning from his parole officer.

Netflix announced on Monday that season three will make its "royal debut" on Sunday, Nov. 17 with a brief video announcement showing Oscar-winning actress Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II. The anticipated new season will span from 1964 to 1977 as Colman takes over the main role of Queen Elizabeth from Claire Foy, who portrayed a younger version of her in the first two seasons. Menzies, meanwhile, replaces Matt Smith, who originated the role as the Duke of Edinburgh. The actors will portray their respective royals for season three and four, which will also introduce Emma Corrin as Lady Diana Spencer.
