Jacksonville looks to be in for a wet and stormy Labor Day weekend!

Jacksonville faces extreme heat and periods of heavy rain as The Weather Authority forecasts high temperatures and stormy conditions throughout the week.

Despite recent rainfall, it says rainfall in June was below average for the fifth consecutive month. There are some simple things people can do to cut down on water usage and their bill.

Much needed rain on the way

After a wonderful stretch of weather the past couple of weeks, things are changing quickly over the next several days.

Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida finally received some beneficial rainfall this weekend.

Parts of southern Georgia and north-central Florida have received  300-400% more than their normal seven day amount of rain.  And this after shoes no sign of backing down from adding to the washout.

Happy Sunday! We’re off to another wet start with light to moderate rainfall building along the Gulf Coast and tracking east.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – We’re only around a third of the way into February and we’ve already picked up about two-thirds the normal rainfall we typically see. That makes our monthly total 2.40″ of rain so far, which is only .79″ below our average rainfall total for the whole month, which is 3.19″. Comparatively, February of 2019 was much drier as we only saw 1.83″ of rain that month. If we go through February and March without much rain, our wildfire danger grows quite high. AdLooking ahead to the next round of wet weather, it appears we will continue to stave off spring fire danger with rain expected on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
