SATSUMA, Fla. – A Satsuma couple are facing drug and child neglect charges after their home was raided Monday by Putnam County narcotics deputies, the Sheriff’s Office said. The raid was part of an investigation that began more than a month ago after anonymous tips were submitted to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office said it became aware of suspected drug activity after receiving the anonymous tips. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says these items were seized Monday from the home. “I was shocked,” said the man who lives nearby.

The wild, scenic lands of the St. Johns River Water Management District will reopen for camping reservations beginning at 1 p.m. Friday. The sites include Bayard Conservation Area in Green Cove Springs, Black Creek Ravines in Middleburg, Moses Creek Conservation Area in St. Augustine and Murphy Island Conservation Area in Satsuma. Both first-come/first-serve and reservable campsites will be open for primitive tent camping only in the districts wild, natural, scenic lands. A Satsuma woman was killed and two others were hurt Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash in Putnam County. The wreck happened shortly before 10:45 p.m. Sunday near where State Road 100 meets Tram Road, according to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report. Troopers said a Ford Mustang carrying all three people was heading west on SR 100 when the car veered onto the shoulder and collided with a tree. One of the passengers, 43-year-old Mildred Bastian of Satsuma, died of her injuries. No one in the car was wearing a seatbelt, troopers said.

GLEN ST. MARY, Fla. – The maternal family of Haleigh Cummings -- the Satsuma girl who went missing nearly a year ago -- held a 'Hope For Haleigh' Prayer Vigil on Saturday night. More than 100 people gathered at Celebration Park in Glen St. Mary to pray for Haleigh's return. Tuesday marks the one year anniversary of the day Haleigh was last seen. Marie Griffis, Haleigh's grandmother, spoke to Channel 4 about how her family is coping.
