The raid was part of an investigation that began more than a month ago after anonymous tips were submitted to the Putnam County Sheriffโ€™s Office. The Sheriffโ€™s Office said it became aware of suspected drug activity after receiving the anonymous tips. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says these items were seized Monday from the home. โ€œI was shocked,โ€ said the man who lives nearby.

The wild, scenic lands of the St. Johns River Water Management District will reopen for camping reservations beginning at 1 p.m. Friday. The sites include Bayard Conservation Area in Green Cove Springs, Black Creek Ravines in Middleburg, Moses Creek Conservation Area in St. Augustine and Murphy Island Conservation Area in Satsuma. Both first-come/first-serve and reservable campsites will be open for primitive tent camping only in the districts wild, natural, scenic lands. To view reservable camping sites and to make a reservation, visit the districts online camping reservation system. Camping areas on district lands have been closed since March 20 following guidance from the state of Florida and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

A Satsuma woman was killed and two others were hurt Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash in Putnam County. The wreck happened shortly before 10:45 p.m. Sunday near where State Road 100 meets Tram Road, according to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report. Troopers said a Ford Mustang carrying all three people was heading west on SR 100 when the car veered onto the shoulder and collided with a tree. One of the passengers, 43-year-old Mildred Bastian of Satsuma, died of her injuries. No one in the car was wearing a seatbelt, troopers said.
