BRUNSWICK, Ga. – Police are offering a $1,000 reward for tips leading to an arrest in a Brunswick man’s killing. Michael Rogers, 64, was found suffering from a head injury behind a home on Third Street about 8:30 a.m. Aug. 9, according to the Brunswick Police Department. Detectives are investigating his death as a homicide. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Det. Jasmine Jordan at 912-279-2624 or the police department at 912-267-5559.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - An investigation is underway after a bicyclist was hit by a car and pinned between the car and light pole Saturday off Third Street near the intersection of Osceola. Witnesses said the driver of a blue Hyundai Elantra was heading south of Third Street passing through the intersection when he was ht by the driver of a blue Subaru Outback. The collision caused the first car to spin out into the sidewalk, pinning a passing bicyclist, who was on sidewalk, between the first car and the light post. Witnesses said the bicyclist's legs were pinned, and she could not walk but was conscious when taken to a hospital. Privacy laws prevent News4Jax from getting condition reports on those involved in the crash.

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. - A retail, entertainment and hotel center development named Saltwater Row is going to be built on the site of a long-closed Kmart store near Atlantic Boulevard and Third Street in Neptune Beach. The first phase will include 30,000 square feet of retail on the ground floor with a 44-room boutique hotel above the retail. Plans for the second phase include an approximately 150-room upscale hotel from a national brand. "I think it's exciting," lifelong Neptune Beach resident Corey Grusden said. Franklin Street Real Estate Services is preleasing Saltwater Row.

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation is hosting an open house Tuesday night about proposed changes to the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and Third Street in Neptune Beach. The open house will be followed by a public comment period. According to the most recent concept plan, proposed improvements also include road widening and resurfacing near the intersection. To learn more about the project, you can attend the open house on Tuesday night from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Beaches Branch Library.
