Man arrested in 2020 hit-and-run that killed Jacksonville pastor
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ A man turned himself in last week in the 2020 hit-and-run death of a local pastor, according to Jacksonville Sheriffโs Office records. William Hodge, 26, is charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death. Lindsay Brown, a pastor at New Life Evangelistic Center, was struck and killed by a vehicle about 7 a.m. Sept. 16 on Crystal Springs Road near Hammond Boulevard. Brown had been with New Life Evangelistic Center for 13 years, but he overall had a ministry background that spanned three decades. Brown had a hand in all aspects of the church, serving in the youth ministry, marriage ministry, administration and finance department.
JSO finds SUV involved in hit-and-run that killed local pastor
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ Investigators have found the vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run that killed a local pastor on the Westside, the Jacksonville Sheriffโs Office announced Saturday morning. A day after asking the public to keep an eye out for a 1999 or 2000 light colored Mitsubishi Montero Sport SUV with moderate front-end damage, the Sheriffโs Office said the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run had been found. The Sheriffโs Office released a photo Friday of a vehicle similar to the one involved in the crash. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ A family and a congregation are grieving the loss of a pastor struck and killed Wednesday morning by a vehicle that drove away. Lindsay Brown, a pastor at New Life Evangelistic Center, was struck while crossing Crystal Springs Road near Hammond Boulevard about 7 a.m. Bishop Antonio Richardson, senior pastor at New Life, said Brown took a walk at 6 a.m. every day and arrived back home by 7:15.
