Rain on Wednesday brings an end to the dry spell

Storm faded away

At 3:00 p.m. the National Weather Service radar indicated a possible tornado over the Osceola National Forest, very rural area just east of U.S. 441. This quickly spun up and quickly faded away.

For Jacksonville, little has changed. Do expect showers and maybe a thundershower between 4:30-6:30 p.m. The early ETA will be for Western Duval County and the later times will be for Southern St. Johns and Flagler counties.

Basically, showers are on the move and will be with us into the evening. Look for a 50% chance of rain moving across Georgia first then into Jacksonville after 2-3 pm. Winds are gusty in advance of a cold front from boosting temps in the mid to upper 70s. A few thunderstorms are possible. Some rain will continue into the early evening around Jacksonville and areas southward.

The front moves southeast of our area this evening leaving us with slightly cooler temps tomorrow.

Rain should be south of the area after 7 p.m. with lows falling into the 50s but colder middle 40s over interior Georgia.

Thursday will have highs in the 70s but cooler middle 60s over coastal Georgia.

Above normal 70s continue Friday with 80s on Saturday. A cold front Saturday night, brings overnight isolated showers and a cool and breezy Sunday with temps in the mid 60s.
