Roaches, flying insects, and sewage backup in restaurants

JACKSONVILLE, FLa – A lot of bugs and sewage backup is the reason three restaurants temporarily closed this week.

Sweetfrog Frozen Yogurt in Fleming Island

Live bugs and roaches were found in and under the yogurt dispenser machines during the first inspection at Sweetfrog Frozen Yogurt in Fleming Island.

Then at the follow-up inspection live roaches were found inside several of the machines. The original report said the issues are repeat violations.

Sweetfrog Frozen Yogurt is still closed.

Andaman Asian Bistro

Andaman Asian Bistro in Saint Augustine was shut down for sewage backup but was also cited for over 30 violations.

On top of sewage coming through floor drains, inspectors say employees touched ready-to-eat foot with their bare hands and food was not safely stored.

The report also stated the restaurant has been operating with an expired license since June of last year.

According to the last report, the restaurant needs another follow-up inspection.
