Students dress up and show great school spirit during homecoming week at Baldwin.

“We start homecoming with a theme that runs through the whole week and we tie it in every day, activities director Kinlin Kirk said. "Students dress up, we have several activities, we have a lot of varsity sports happening this week, so we just have a wonderful student body.”

The Indians came out in full force ready to spear the Bishop Synder Cardinals.

The student section was packed, which the activities director said is different from past years.

“The culture is such a great thing right now, one of our slogans is Baldwin Strong and that’s what we are, we are strong as one unit and we have really this year taken ownership and pride of our school,” Kirk said.

While the players were scoring touchdowns on the field, anticipation about the couple who would win homecoming king and queen was in the stands.

At halftime, seniors Seth Davies and Faith Ortego were crowned homecoming king and queen.

Both students have been attending Baldwin Middle-Senior High School since they were in the sixth grade.

“It’s such an awesome place because Baldwin has the small-town feel, but the big city opportunities," said Kirk. "We have a oneness where students are successful off the field, are successful in the classroom, you kind of have a whole family support feel.”

Students ranging from sixth grade to senior year of high school enjoyed the week-long festivities that is Baldwin Homecoming.

“We’re really a family and homecoming is really a good time for us to come together and be a family again and a lot of people that left for college come back," senior Courtney McCulogh said. "It’s just a great atmosphere and a great time.”
