Lt. N.J. Dalone, with the Sheriff’s Office, said police were called to Villanova Road near Broward Road at about 4:30 p.m. In March 2019, a 12-year-old student was injured after being hit by a “metal projectile” while riding a school bus. The bus had left Mayport Middle School, when the projectile flew through a window, hitting that student. Police said he was arguing with students on the bus when he pulled out a gun and fired several shots.
