A Jacksonville man in his late 30s was shot on Sunday morning shortly after midnight on Broward Road after a domestic argument. Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said he may have been shot in self-defense.

A 19-year-old man died early Thursday morning after he was struck by an SUV while he was walking on Interstate 95 on the Northside, according to FHP.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A person of interest was detained Wednesday evening after police officers were dispatched to a report of a “school bus shot,” according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Lt. N.J. Dalone, with the Sheriff’s Office, said police were called to Villanova Road near Broward Road at about 4:30 p.m. In March 2019, a 12-year-old student was injured after being hit by a “metal projectile” while riding a school bus. The bus had left Mayport Middle School, when the projectile flew through a window, hitting that student. Police said he was arguing with students on the bus when he pulled out a gun and fired several shots.
