JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A Jacksonville Sheriffs Officer and the driver of a Chevrolet truck both were both injured in a crash on University Boulevard Saturday evening. According to JSO, just after 6 p.m. the officer was driving eastbound on University Boulevard and attempted to turn left into a business. The driver of the Silverado was heading west and did not see the officer turning. Both the officer and the other driver were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. As of 8 p.m. one eastbound lane of University Boulevard was closed while traffic homicide detectives investigated the crash.

According to Edmund’s arrest reports, officers were called about 10 p.m. Saturday to a carjacking. One man then demanded her keys and both men then got into her Hyundai Tucson and took off, according to police. James Simon told News4Jax that his 18-year-old son had just gotten home from work when two men with handguns approached him in the driveway and then forced him inside their home. With a gun pointed at his family, Simon said, he did everything he could to distract the two men. When they tried to pull the vehicle over, according to police, the Chevrolet crashed and Edmund ran off.

ORANGE PARK, Fla. - A crash in Orange Park killed a man and injured four others, including a teenager from South Carolina. Troopers said around 11 p.m. Tuesday, a pickup truck t-boned a Chevrolet Cobalt on U.S. 17 at Stiles Avenue before slamming into a light pole. Investigators said the truck was traveling its lights off and the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. His two passengers, a 14-year-old female and a 21-year-old man from South Columbia were transported to Orange Park Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver in the Chevrolet Cobalt was also transported with minor injuries.

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. - Two pedestrians sitting at a bus stop were seriously injured after being struck by a car early Saturday morning on Third Street North in Jacksonville Beach. The car crashed into the JTA bus stop in front of Jacksonville Beach City Hall at 1:40 a.m.Police said a silver Chevrolet collided with a white truck at 1st Avenue North and 3rd Street North. The Chevrolet then veered east, striking the bus stop and the pedestrians. The Jacksonville Beach Police Department blocked off all north and southbound lanes of Third Street between Beach Boulevard and Second Avenue for several hours to investigate the scene. PALATKA, Fla. - A head-on crash in Palatka late Friday night left two men in critical condition, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said the crash happened just before midnight on U.S. Route 17 at Gordon Wilkinson Road. Investigators said two white Chevrolet Silverado pickup trucks were heading north in the southbound lanes of U.S.Route 17 when a third white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, which was traveling south in the southbound lanes, collided head-on with one of the trucks. The FHP said that, moments later the second Chevrolet truck that was traveling north also collided with the truck that had been traveling south. Tanner Tilton, 21, of Bostwick, and Hunter Weaver, 22, of Palatka, were taken to Orange Park Medical Center with critical injuries.

PALATKA, Fla. - 2 men are in critical condition after a head-on crash late Friday in Palatka. Florida Highway patrol says two white Chevrolet Silverados were going northbound in the southbound lanes of US-17. A third white Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound in the southbound lanes and collided head-on with one of the trucks. Moments later the second Chevrolet truck that was traveling northbound then also collided with the truck that had been traveling southbound. Tanner Tilton, 21, of Bostwick and Hunter Weaver, 22, of Palatka were taken to Orange Park Medical Center with critical injuries.

The American woman and her Australian boyfriend who were killed while on a road trip together in Canada died a "horrific death," police said. Canadian police did not say how the couple was killed but that their deaths are being investigated as homicides. Australian police said they were told the couple was shot, in "what can only be described as horrific circumstances." After finding some work in Canada on a cattle farm, they planned a three-week road trip through the country. He was working in Canada and they were planning an extensive road trip there for three weeks.

A 24-year-old American woman and her Australian boyfriend were found dead while they were roadtripping through Canada. Deese, of North Carolina, had met Fowler at a hostel in Croatia, her brother told the Charlotte Observer. After finding some work in Canada on a cattle farm, they planned a three-week road trip through the country. He was working in Canada and they were planning an extensive road trip there for three weeks. The Fowler family said they are going to Canada "to be with our boy and to bring him home."
