Undercover operation leads to fire marshal shutting down Mascara's
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Mascaras nightclub on Jacksonville's Southside was shut down Sunday night by the city fire marshal after an inspection found the fire alarm system and sprinkler system were not working. An arrest report shows what led the city marshal to shutting down the adult entertainment venue on Southside Boulevard. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said it was conducting another undercover vice investigation into prostitution, drug activity and complaints of adult entertainment violations. Alexis Diaz (pictured right in a JSO booking photo), 24, was arrested on a charge of dancing in a manner simulating a sex act, which is a violation of the city's adult entertainment code. Police said Merriweather hit one of the dancers and Adams started punching him before Merriweather pulled out a gun and shot Adams.
