Rock hall plans October induction before live audience

(Photo by Amy Harris/Invision/AP, File)NEW YORK โ The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame said Tuesday that it plans to have a live induction of its 36th class on Oct. 30 in Cleveland โ before an actual audience! โWe are optimistic and hopeful for the ceremony,โ said Greg Harris, president and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. It will be the sixth time the induction ceremony will be held in Cleveland, home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. AdHarris said a fall induction ceremony, moved from the spring last year because of COVID, will become permanent.

The prestigious organization announced the guest list Thursday for the ceremony, which will debut Nov. 7 on HBO. Other guests will include Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, Gwen Stefani, Charlize Theron, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Adam Levine and Brad Paisley. The special guests will speak on how this yearโs inductees impacted their personal life and careers.

Sixteen musical artists have the chance to graduate with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's class of 2020. Dave Matthews Band, The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Motrhead, The Notorious B.I.G., Pat Benatar, Soundgarden, T. Rex and Thin Lizzy are also on the list as first-time nominees. Hall of Fame guitarist Dave Mason will play at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall
ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. - Rock & Roll Hall of Fame guitarist Dave Mason will perform at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall on April 11, 2020. Mason has been performing live shows for over 50 years. Best known for his soulful voice and unsurpassed guitar playing, Mason was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a founding member of the group Traffic and continues performing as a solo artist with sold-out shows. Tickets will be available for purchase at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and St. Augustine Amphitheatre box offices, ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster outlets. Doors open at 7 p.m. on April 11, 2020 with the show starting at 8 p.m.
Isley Brothers are coming to Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Isley Brothers announced that the "You Make Me Wanna Shout - 60th Anniversary tour is coming to Jacksonville! The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will be stopping in Jacksonville on December 22 at the Times-Union Center For The Performing Arts. The tour, which was originally announced earlier this spring, will see the band celebrating the 60th anniversary of their hit song "Shout." Released on September 21, 1959, "Shout" became the brothers' first gold single and went on to become a frequently covered classic. Fans will not only be able to hear the song live, but they will hear a number of the brothers' biggest hits including "It's Your Thing," "That Lady," "Twist and Shout," and more, on all tour dates.
