Cupid is a 5 year old large mixed-breed dog who lives up to his name – this guy is all love! Cupid loves to meet new people, get pets and give kisses. Cupid is one of our Dog Day Out Adventure Dogs, and has received glowing feedback from his adventure partners! They all say that Cupid is polite, good in the car, and happy-go-lucky. Cupid is also a Dolly’s Dream Dog! His sponsored adoption includes his adoption fee, leash, collar, and a 6 month supply of heartworm prevention. Dolly’s Dream supports the adoption of blocky-headed dogs who can often be overlooked in the shelter. JHS’s partnership with organizations like Dolly’s Dream goes hand-in-hand with our mission of providing care, comfort and compassion to animals in need while engaging the hearts, hands and minds of our community to bring about an end to the killing of abandoned and orphaned shelter animals.

Nearly 300 South Koreans who were adopted by European and American parents as children are demanding that South Korea investigate their adoptions, which they suspect were based on falsified documents that laundered their real status or identities as agencies raced to export children.

The shelter at Clay County Animal Services is full and to help find forever homes for these adoptable dogs, Clay County is offering free adoptions through Saturday, July 9, for all dogs over 6 months old.

The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) is offering free pet adoptions for our large dogs over 30 pounds from Jan. 27 through Jan. 30.

Adopters can choose how much to donate toward the adoption of any dog over 30 pounds or adult cat.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Humane Society invites pet owners to sit, stay, and play at the organization’s annual Mutt March. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, JHS has reimagined the event as the newly-dubbed Mutt Market for 2021. The event will be held outdoors and will feature market vendors and free adoptions. “Mutt Market is a variation of Mutt March, Jacksonville’s Largest Pet Walk and Festival,” Jacksonville Humane Society CEO Denise Deisler explained.
