Out of all states, Florida has the most homes for sale, study finds
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ 2020 was a year like no other for the residential real estate market, and the market is still feeling the effects. Florida is the clear leader in the number of homes for sale, with 248 active listings per 10,000 homes, and Hawaii (229) and Georgia (210) are not far behind, a new study by Inspection Support Network shows. โIn these locations, supply and demand are keeping pace with one another more than they are elsewhere,โ the study said. Altogether, there were 248 active listings per 10,000 owner-occupied homes, compared to the national average of 124. Out of all states, Florida has the most homes for sale.
Those who wear glasses less likely to get COVID, study says
Can wearing glasses protect against COVID-19? A news study suggests the answer is yes. (WKMG)The study, out of India, found people who wear glasses are three times less likely to get the virus because theyโre less likely to touch their eyes, WABC-TV reported. The study, conducted last summer in Kanpur Dehat, involved 304 patients, ages 10 to 80. A previous study conducted in China found 5% of those hospitalized with COVID-19 wore glasses, while about 30% of the population wears glasses.
Study is halted as HIV vaccine fails test in South Africa
The latest attempt at an HIV vaccine has failed, as researchers announced Monday they have stopped giving the experimental shots in a major study. The study had enrolled more than 5,400 people since 2016 in South Africa, a country with one of the worldโs highest HIV rates. โAn HIV vaccine is essential to end the global pandemic and we hoped this vaccine candidate would work.
