Pizza Party with Hello Mr. Joe at Sun-Ray Cinemaโs Pizza Cave in Riversideโs Five Points is a monthly story-time with music featuring childrenโs performing artist Joe Gaskinโs creatively themed, literacy-based entertainment for kiddos. Singalongs, creative percussion and a guitalele (just what it sounds like!) that move the whole family to dance at this party, plus the best pizza slice youโve ever eaten in a Cave. 11AM the first Saturday of the month. Sitting right next to Sun-Ray Cinema in historic Five Points is the Pizza Cave, a unique restaurant hosting a color-changing backdrop that will leave you speechless. Pizza Cave serves up delicious pizza, salads, and more to visitors of Five Points and customers of Sun-Ray Cinema. River City Liveโs first visit to the location was when Pizza Cave opened at the beginning of 2020. Since then, there have been many upgrades and changes as owner Shana and the rest of the crew are eager to serve the hungry people of Jacksonville!

Wonder Woman, Goonies coming to the big screen, at the drive-in
Thatโs because โWonder Woman 84โ is the first showing at Sun-Ray Cinemaโs new permanent drive-in theater location at 859-869 Willow Branch Avenue. Not only is Sun-Ray playing host to Wonder Woman Friday night, itโs also giving people a chance to re-visit the gang from โThe Gooniesโ. โIf youโre in a big tall vehicle, weโve got a spot for you,โ David-Massett said. โIf youโve got a short vehicle, weโve got a spot for you.โWorry not, if you have a short vehicle, you wonโt be placed behind a big vehicle. The โWonder Woman 84โ screening is Friday, January 8th, at 6:00 p.m. โThe Gooniesโ starts at 9:00.
Drive-in movie adventure, anyone? This contest will give 10 of you free tickets
Whenโs the last time you went to a drive-in movie theater? If a movie outing sounds fun, just know that Sun-Ray Cinema is showing โWonder Woman 1984โณ on Christmas Day, with viewings scheduled daily through Jan. 7. The drive-in is also running a contest, Dec. 23 to Jan. 7, giving away 10 tickets to the theater. Sun-Ray Cinema to continue hugely popular On Demand program
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. When the coronavirus prompted businesses to shut down, one of the industries hit hard were movie theaters. With Hollywood hitting the pause button on releasing new films and self-quarantining becoming the order of the day, movie theaters had no choice but the shutdown. But Sun-Ray Cinema in Five Points came up with a better idea. The move has become a big hit, and its allowed the locally owned cinema to keep operating. When that date got pushed back, we just said well continue with this.Now, with Hollywood studios continuing the new feature moratorium, Sun-Ray is going to continue its On Demand offering.
You & friends can soon enjoy a private screening of your favorite movie at Sun-Ray
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Throughout June, Sun-Ray Cinema in Jacksonvilles Five Points neighborhood is offering a way for you to get a private screening of your favorite movie on the big screen while Hollywood takes a break from debuting new films. Sun-Ray said you can invite up to 15 guests to watch a film on a date and time that works with your schedule, youll just need to reserve the room first. When it comes to what you can watch, any movie on Blue-Ray or DVD will work, including home movies. You can also watch a big television event, binge something on a streaming service or have a screening on 35mm. You can also find the email and phone number to contact and schedule your event.
'96 Hours of Anguish' premieres on big screen at Sun-Ray Cinema
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - News4Jax and Sun-Ray Cinema are teaming up for a special showing of WJXT Channel 4's documentary on the disaster in the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian. The film, 96 Hours of Anguish, which premiered on News4Jax two weeks ago, is making its big screen debut in Jacksonville. Tickets are $10.
