Catty Shack Ranch mourns loss of santuaryโs only lioness
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. โ Catty Shack Ranchโs only female lion passed away peacefully at the sanctuary Thursday night. The 21-year-old big cat was three when she and about a half a dozen other exotic animals were confiscated by the USDA from a private zoo in 2002. โAll of our rescued animals receive the finest medical treatment, but one thing we canโt cure is old age,โ Catty Shackโs Executive Director Curt LoGiudice said. This weekend, Catty Shack is honoring her by dedicating all visits to Nyraโs memory. The sanctuary relies on ticket sales to provide food and medical care for all of the animals.

Catty Shack Ranch making way for 14 new animals; donations needed
Curt Logiudice with the Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary knows the feeling. โImmediately, I got on the phone and talked with some of our board members and some of our team caretakers,โ Logiudice said. โAnd (we) wanted to know, โare we ready for this undertaking?โโTo get ready, Logiudice is hoping people at home will open their hearts and their wallets. Friday multiple animals will be joining the hundreds who already call Catty Shack home. With a lot of prep work for the new arrivals underway, Logiudice says donations will go a long way.
