Family members identified the man who was killed in a shooting Wednesday in the parking lot of Copeland’s restaurant on Jacksonville’s Southside.

An 18-year-old was killed and three other young adults were injured in a shooting Wednesday night at a Cleveland Road apartment complex in Northwest Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for a missing 10-year-old boy last seen Sunday at around 3 p.m. near Cleveland Road and West 45th Street.

A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Sheriff’s Office homicide detective said its Gang Unit was working an assignment near the apartment complex when officers heard gunfire nearby and spotted a vehicle that looked like it was fleeing the scene. The investigation led officers back to Building E at the complex where they found three people shot to death in an apartment. News4Jax crime and safety expert Ken Jefferson said the presence of JSO’s Gang Unit will be key to the case. JSO says Gang Unit was in the area when they also heard the shots, followed a car seen speeding away from the area.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police have a suspect in custody after a man was shot several times Friday morning in Northwest Jacksonville. Officers answering a call about someone shot on Cleveland Road shortly before 9 a.m. Friday found the unnamed suffering from at least five gunshot wounds, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The man was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said. The Sheriff’s Office said police have a suspect in custody, but no additional details were released. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Jacksonville Sheriffs Office responded to a Shot Spotter call at an apartment complex on the Northside, around 11:00 p.m. Friday night. Shortly after receiving that Shot Spotter call, JSO was contacted about a shooting at the Vista Landing Apartments on Cleveland Road. Responding officers found a single victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his elbow. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police have not released any suspect details, but detectives are working to learn more.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A 21-year-old Jacksonville man has been charged with murder in a March shooting, police announced Monday. Antonious L. Burney was arrested Friday on a murder charge after police said an investigation pointed to him as the gunman in a fatal shooting on Cleveland Road. Police said a 60-year-old man was found shot to death in a wooded area along the road on March 29. They have not identified the victim but said at the time of the killing that the man was believed to be homeless. Police did not indicate a motive for the shooting when they announced Burney's arrest.
