Clay County did not receive any additional allotments of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine this week from the Florida Division of Emergency Management, John Ward, the county’s director of Emergency Management, announced Wednesday. That means there will be no vaccination appointments opening up this week, Ward said in a video on Clay County Emergency Management’s Facebook page. There’s been a lot of sites opening up throughout the state that they’re really trying to spread the limited doses to,” Ward said. “We’ve been assured from starting next week that we should start getting a weekly allocation of doses. ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Leaders in St. Johns County are keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm Isaias and what the potential rainmaker will mean for flood-prone areas. News4Jax was told the biggest difference in St. Johns County Emergency Management operations ahead of the storm is following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. St. Johns County Emergency Management Interim Director Joe Giammanco said, when it comes to flooding, they are in a slightly better position ahead of the storm because of current weather conditions. Similar actions are being taken at the St. Johns County Emergency Operations Center, with social distancing and limiting staff when possible. Emergency Management hopes, within the next 24 hours, it will have a better picture of what’s going on and what resources will have to be deployed.

With the launch of its new alert notification system, St. Johns County officials want you to move fast. When neighbors sign up, they will be able to choose how they want to be notified. If neighbors receive a notification from Emergency Management, it will solely be in the event of a public safety emergency.
